Pick up the Coastal path again from around the back of the Carbis Bay Hotel and that will bring you to the wonderfuly sheltered Porthminster beach boasts almost half a mile of golden sands with calm sea conditions ideal for families. It has very much a feel of the beaches of yesteryear, the ones that you remember as a child. Porthminster has restaurant and café facilities, a putting green, beach huts for hire, toilets and level access to the town centre. No wonder this beach was the runner up in the best beach in the world competition, I kid you not, second only to the beach in Rio diginero, Brazil. The St Ives branch line trains draw up at the top of the steps which makes access to the beach easy for anyone who wishes to leave their car at home.
